Ordinance 2016-02 Management of On-lot Subsurface Sewage Disposal Facilities

Per the DEP mandate, Ordinance 2016-02 requires pumping and inspection of septic or on-lot sewage disposal systems every two (2) years for District I - BB Section and every three (3) years for all other Districts. Pumping and inspection reports are required to be filed with the Township through licensed and approved septic haulers. A list of licensed and approved septic haulers is provided below.

Four (4) Sewage Management Districts, based on parcel number and property location, have been set up in the Township and have required dates for septic tank pumping. A list showing the districts is available at the Township Office or here: Pumping Districts. You will receive a notice for pumping a year before the pumping and inspection report is due.

If you do not feel you need to pump your septic or on-lot sewage disposal system, please fill out the Excusal Letter and submit to the Township Office. Excusal Form

If you wish to use a septic service which is not listed, please ask them to call the Township Office at 717-642-8509.

PENNVEST, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, provides low-cost financing to improve, replace, or repair individual on-lot sewage disposal systems or to connect, for the first time, to public sewer in order to meet public health and environmental safety standards.
